MARCH 17, 2015 (Nashville, TN) – Rock legends and GRAMMY® Award winners The Doobie Brothers and Gregg Allman have added a run of late summer 2015 co-headlining dates, beginning August 19, in Boston, MA, and concluding in September.
“We’ve played shows with Gregg and The Allman Brothers over the years, starting in 1974,“ The Doobie Brothers’ Tom Johnston recalls.” It’s always been something I’ve looked forward to and enjoyed for the high energy and soulful experience that it is!”Patrick Simmons agrees, “Gregg Allman is a national treasure, and it’s such a pleasure to be doing shows with one of our oldest friends. Not only is Gregg one of the finest musicians you could ever hope to hear, he is also one of the nicest people I know. His music, as well as ours, was born out of that great blues tradition, so I think this show is going to be a treat for you blues freaks! We’re so looking forward to these gigs, and I know there’s bound to be some jammin’ going on at some point.””I’ve loved The Doobie Brothers since I can remember,” says Gregg Allman. “Those guys can play! And I love their songs — so many classics. I’m honored to tour with my old pals. We always have a good ol’ time.”Gregg Allman is one of rock music’s most acclaimed and beloved stars, possessing a distinctively soulful voice and singular songwriting ability that resonates through a musical career spanning nearly half a century. Gregg, along with the Allman Brothers Band, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. At the 54th Annual GRAMMY® Awards, the group was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.  Earlier this year, Allman released the critically acclaimed All My Friends: Celebrating the Songs & Voice of Gregg Allman, which captured a multi-generational assortment of musicians from the worlds of rock, blues and country, for a once-in-a-lifetime performance paying tribute to Allman’s life and music.

The Doobie Brothers have been delivering mind-blowing, roots-based, harmony-laden, guitar-driven rock and roll for over four decades, selling more than 48 million albums and winning four GRAMMY® Awards. Their latest album, Southbound, was released November 2014 and features new recordings of the band’s biggest hits, with accompaniment from some of country music’s biggest stars (including Zac Brown Band, Toby Keith, Blake Shelton, and Brad Paisley, among others). The Doobie Brothers recently launched their “Takin’ It To the Streets Concert Club”. Members of the new concert club have advance access to ticket pre-sales (including reserved seating options), as well as exclusive merch and meet & greet opportunities.
